2:14Now PlayingAt midnight on Tuesday, City Police shot a 22-year-old suspect in a knife attack on two police officers and an attempted break-and-enter in the vicinity of the Velangadu crematorium in the Aynavaram police jurisdiction. According to police sources, the suspect, Surya, was shot in the left leg and has since been admitted to a hospital for treatment. A police team from Thiruvallur apprehended Surya of Pulianthope in connection with the attack on a police sub inspector on Sunday night and brought him back to the city when he asked for an urination break. When Shankar, a sub-inspector at the Ayanavaram police station, stopped a two-wheeler for a vehicle inspection, he was struck with an iron rod. The police team flagged them after spotting kids riding triples on two-wheelers. But, the rider didn't stop the car and tried to outrun the police by going fast. Listen In!
