By encouraging the 10 members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor to participate in the election, the BJP hoped to increase its representation on the key Standing Committee. Nevertheless, when Shelly Oberoi, the AAP's mayoral candidate, complained to the highest court over this and won a decision in their favour, these attempts were halted. Even though AAP appears to have a majority of the vote (especially in light of the SC judgement barring aldermen from casting ballots), BJP is unlikely to stop trying to surprise voters. Listen In!
