4:12Now PlayingTop News | On Wednesday, a water pipeline in Mumbai's suburban Andheri ruptured, causing water to spill close to residential complexes and rise several feet into the air. The impacted conduit, which had a diameter of 1200mm, was positioned across from Oshiwara's Infinity Mall, according to representatives of the Mumbai civic council. The event happened at about 2:45 p.m. Videos of the incident showing water aggressively spewing from the ruptured pipeline and reaching heights equal to 8 to 10-story buildings are widely shared on social media.
The hydraulic department swiftly stopped the water supply within the pipeline, according to a statement from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The department also started rapid repair operations. Keep an eye on Mirror Now for the latest developments.
