A rookie cop celebrated by Prince George's County Police for Women's History Month was linked to 30 stolen BMWs from Reagan National Airport — and may walk with probation. Sierra Austin's own police jacket was found inside a stolen car parked outside her home. Her phone Bluetooth connected to two more stolen vehicles. Police body camera caught her driving a third stolen BMW to take her stabbed boyfriend to the hospital. Her alibi: she lost her jacket in an Uber and doesn't live there. Original vehicle theft charges were dropped entirely. She now faces four misdemeanor counts of misconduct in office and conspiracy — no felonies, no prison time, and legally still eligible to carry a gun and apply for other police jobs. Two other Prince George's County officers face related misconduct charges. The evidence was overwhelming. The charges are not. Whether this is DEI protection, a plea deal, or prosecutorial negligence, someone needs to answer for it. #DEI #PrinceGeorgesCounty
