A burglar called 911 after his car was stolen—while police were investigating the Verizon store he allegedly burglarized across the street. That phone call turned an already bizarre crime into one of the easiest arrests imaginable.

Howard County officers arrived at the store and discovered shattered glass, visible blood, and surveillance footage showing a masked suspect wearing distinctive glasses. Minutes later, a man nearby reported that someone had stolen his truck. Police quickly noticed that the caller’s glasses and pants resembled the burglar’s clothing—and that he had fresh cuts and blood on his hands.
