Chicago elected one of the most far-left mayors in America. Now, after soaring migrant spending, police shortages, proposed property-tax increases and a massive budget deficit, Chicago voters appear to be suffering from serious buyer’s remorse.
A new University of Chicago poll reportedly found that just 13.6% of Chicagoans want Mayor Brandon Johnson to run again—meaning roughly 86% aren’t supporting another campaign. Johnson is underwater across racial, economic and geographic lines, including among Black Chicagoans who were once considered part of his political base.
Chicago voted for far-left government and got far-left policies. Now the same city is overwhelmingly rejecting the mayor who delivered them. Is this proof that Chicago voters are finally waking up—or will they simply elect another politician offering the same policies?
