YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOn today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis began by addressing Kansas City Chief's wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s disastrous “press conference” over the weekend, pointing out that Hill was ill-prepared and failed to articulate his exoneration by the league or even his innocence. Clay also bemoaned the NFL’s personal conduct policy and related suspensions as they are inconsistent and shouldn’t be within the league’s purview.
Clay Travis also discussed the dispute between President Donald Trump and the city of Baltimore, where President Donald Trump's comments about the state of the city was immediately misconstrued as racist by the mainstream media. Clay also commented on President Donald Trump's approval rating contrasting it to the 15% approval rating of Congress and how outlandish and far-left they have become. Clay Travis predicts the Democratic Party is approaching an internal civil war.
Clay Travis then commented on The Athletic and their fundraising efforts of ~$90 million and current subscriber base of ~500k. The question to ask, said Travis, is who will eventually buy The Athletic out. Clay surmised that ESPN might be a potential buyer for The Athletic, where they could ultimately roll it into their ESPN+ model, as well as the possibility of a big gambling company stepping in and buying them as well.
Finally, Clay Travis addressed the record-breaking “cordcutting” going on in the second quarter of 2019 of cable and satellite subscriptions, especially with regard to sports. Dish Network, for instance, has now blacked out all of the regional sports networks and will require their customers to buy them à la carte. This, said Travis, is just the beginning.
