as posted by the channelSunday, March 13th. Day started with air raid sirens most likely as a response to a strike against an airfield 30 miles west of the city. At time of writing, 35 dead and over 130 wounded.
The first such strike in many days. And a heightened sense that the war could be headed this way. Although many hope it was just an isolated attack on a military target. Regardless, people came out to seek distractions from what is happening.
And the near inevitable in any war has happened. The first member of the international press corps has become a casualty of this conflict. Journalist for New York Times Brent Renaud killed in Irpin outside Kyiv. A bell that cannot be unrung. And a grim reminder of the risks journalists take by bearing witness.
