Watsky, a multi-talented poet, rapper, and performer, has appeared on HBO’s Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry, The Ellen Show, and the NAACP Image Awards. He’s won both the Youth Speaks Slam and Brave New Voices National Poetry Slam at the Apollo Theater; his YouTube videos have entertained millions. No less at home with the printed word, Watsky published a collection of poems, Undisputed Backtalk Champion, in 2006 and now makes his prose debut with sharply observed, subversive essays that meet the challenges and humiliations of everyday life with defiance and humor.
