Times, and many more publications. In 2003, she received her Ph.D. in English from Harvard, and in 2005 she co-authored of the comic novel The Underminer. In this wide-ranging consideration of the past, present, and future of the Internet, Heffernan focuses on the Web as art, looking at how it has changed the presentation and reception of ideas, and speculating on its as yet untapped potential. She draws on cultural influences from Wittgenstein to YouTube and Beyoncé as well as on her own experience.
