18:32Now Playing"Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was arrested on for disorderly conduct. Chicago police say he orchestrated the attack in the Windy City and he made a false police report.
Police also say Smollett wrote a check in the amount of $3,500 to the two Nigerian brothers to stage an attack on him.
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, clearly angry about the Smollett hoax expressed his frustration during a news conference this morning saying, "The most vile and despicable part of it, if it's true, is the noose. That symbol conjures up such evil in this country's history."
