2:00Now PlayingPresidential candidate Kamala Harris unveiled a new proposal to raise teachers' salaries by an average of $13,500 or 23%.
Her proposal also included a recommendation that is specific to advancing the Black agenda. Harris' proposal to close the teacher pay gap would allocate extra money and support for teachers in schools which disproportionately serve students of color and extra support for teachers training at HBCU's.
