Homeless encampments in a section of Washington, DC will be permanently cleared this month by the District of Columbia.

Residents of the newly gentrified area say the encampments have become a safety issue for pedestrians traveling through there.

DC is not the only place where gentrification is moving homeless people out and replacing them with high priced condos.

When that happens, what becomes of the people who already couldn't afford to live there? When will America come up with a plan to address homelessness and poverty?
