Protests continue in Madison, Wisconsin after Corey Ruiz was shot and killed by police during a confrontation caught only on bystander video.

Roland Martin reviews the footage frame by frame and raises the central question driving this case: how does one officer fire three shots at point-blank range while four officers are surrounding and restraining one man — and do it with no body camera footage to confirm the officers’ account?

Roland speaks with Madison Common Council President Sabrina Madison, who says the shooting did not appear warranted and says the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is now handling the case. Roland is then joined by Candace Kelley, Matt Manning and Michael Imhotep, who break down the legal exposure, the missing body camera evidence, the disputed police narrative about a knife and why this case is fueling public outrage.

The segment centers the human cost as Ruiz’s mother grieves her son, while also pressing the accountability question: if police are using deadly force, why were none of the officers wearing body cameras?
