YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDianne Feinstein, the 89-year-old Democratic senator from California, has been out of the Senate for months due to health concerns. However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democratic leaders have refused to address her absence or consider her retirement.
Feinstein's absence has also slowed Senate Democrats' efforts to nominate and confirm federal judges. Democrats have a narrow majority on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Feinstein is one of the most senior members of the committee. Her absence has made it difficult for Democrats to move forward with their judicial nominees.
As a result of Feinstein's absence, Democrats have been unable to confirm several of their judicial nominees. This has put them at a disadvantage, as Republicans have been able to confirm more of their judicial nominees.
Schumer and other Democratic leaders have been criticized for their handling of Feinstein's absence. Some Democrats believe that Schumer should have forced Feinstein to retire, or at least to step aside from her committee assignments. Others believe that Schumer should have done more to address Feinstein's health concerns.
Despite these concerns, Schumer and other Democratic leaders have refused to address Feinstein's absence. They have refused to hold a hearing on her health, and they have refused to consider her retirement. This has led to criticism from progressive activists, who believe that Schumer and other Democratic leaders are putting the the party’s policies at risk by not addressing Feinstein's absence.
