2:21Now PlayingSometimes what feels like “avoidant behavior” may actually be a sign that someone simply isn’t showing up with the same level of interest or intention you are.
Even someone with Dismissive Avoidant patterns will usually make an effort when they’re genuinely invested. They may move more slowly, need more space, or struggle with vulnerability, but you should still see some consistency over time.
Three signs to pay attention to:
1. They rarely initiate plans or make an effort to see you.
2. They don’t ask meaningful questions about your life, past, or future.
3. They never seem to gradually open up or let their walls come down.
The goal isn’t to label someone or assume the worst. It’s important to notice whether the connection is actually progressing and whether your needs for consistency, curiosity, and emotional openness are being met.
How many of these signs have you experienced in a connection?
