1:41Now PlayingAt first, someone with a Fearful Avoidant attachment style may respond to conflict with defensiveness or denial, especially when emotions are running high. But once that intensity settles, they may begin reflecting on their behavior and recognizing the impact it had on you.
That realization can bring genuine remorse and empathy, sometimes even long after the relationship has ended. But remorse alone doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ready to reconnect.
If reconnection is on the table, look beyond what they *feel* and pay attention to what they *do*: Are they initiating? Apologizing? Taking accountability? Making a consistent effort to grow? Those actions can tell you much more about whether rebuilding the relationship is actually possible.
What would you need to see from someone before you felt safe considering reconnection?
