Love is to will the good of another. It's an act, a choice, and a way of being that goes far beyond what we feel in a moment. Joy is the same. It's a state of being, something rooted in a much deeper place than our circumstances or our mood. Joy isn't just happiness or some fleeting sense of relief. It's not a feeling that comes and goes. True joy, he said, is conforming your life to Christ and, in the process, finding contentment and peace even in the midst of struggle.
