8:32Now PlayingWhy would House progressives give their votes to passing the Defense Authorization Bill? Especially when it included an extra billion dollars or more for another country’s missile defense program? We took our questions to progressive Congressmen Jamaal Bowman, D-NY.
The House of Representatives recently passed their annual Defense Authorization bill, which is probably the only bill, bi-partisan or otherwise, that regularly makes it through congress in a timely manner. Progressives in the House did their best to include multiple amendments that would pump the brakes on rampant and out of control U.S. military engagements around the world.
Want to hear more from the Congressman? Don’t worry, there are more questions and commentary from Rep. Bowman that will be posted later this week, and you can view the interview in full from our Sunday Live Show
Jamaal Bowman is a member of the House of Representatives, representing New York's 16th congressional district since 2021, when he defeated the 16 term Democratic incumbent, Eliot Engel. He is a former educator, and well known member of “The Squad.”
