11:28Now PlayingUnder the Trump administration Things were undoubtedly worse, as far as corruption goes, but how much better are things now? We were joined this week by the former director of the United States Office of Government Ethics, Walter Shuab, to make a realistic assessment of the level of corruption under the current presidential administration.
While Trump’s cabinet was nakedly run by inept American oligarchs, cronies of the Trump family, and outright opponents of the agencies they were meant to lead, Joe Biden has certainly reached deep into the pockets of a few key corporate backers for some of his appointees. Biden’s administration still looks great compared to every other president in living memory, but that’s mainly because every other president in living memory has been terrible on this.
Walter Michael Shaub Jr. is the Senior Director of Ethics of the Washington D.C.based election law organization the Campaign Legal Center. He served as Director of the United States Office of Government Ethics from January 9, 2013 to July 19, 2017. Follow him on Twitter
