YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFormer New Britain, Connecticut Mayor Erin Stewart — a Republican who ran for governor this year on a "something different" brand — had the city reimburse her $31,561.54 for her own master's degree in public administration at the University of New Haven, with the money pulled from an account meant to cover city employees' healthcare costs.
The tuition reimbursement surfaced on top of a far larger problem: an outside investigation found the "great majority" of $207,076 she charged to a city credit card over nearly a decade was unrelated to city business, and concluded a criminal investigation was warranted. Stewart suspended her campaign for governor within an hour of that report's release and promised "full and complete restitution." Connecticut State Police and the FBI are now investigating her spending. Here's what "fiscal responsibility" looks like when nobody's checking the receipts.
