Then the administration he voted for ended Temporary Protected Status for Haitians, and his business started eating itself.
Chef Creole lost four employees, then the entire management structure collapsed across all seven locations. Two of those seven are on the chopping block. Labor costs climbed from 23.5% to as high as 28%. Net profit is shrinking, and the prices his customers pay are going up.
"Everyone is going to feel it," Sejour said.
And here's the contradiction he can't square: the State Department is telling people not to go to Haiti. His own workers told him they won't be embarrassed and they won't look like criminals. "So they're out of here. They're gone."
All because he voted for the businessman.
