In 2005, Eric Martin suffered a debilitating injury while working at the paper mill where he’d spent most of his career, forcing him to retire early and putting the Martin family into a very difficult financial position. Thankfully his wife, Shelley, was able to find a new job which would provide well enough, especially once their daughter Chelsea graduated high school a couple of years later. The downside was they’d have to move somewhere a bit closer, and that’s what brought the Martins to the sleepy little town of Palmyra, Maine. With a population of only about 1900 people, the rural village thirty miles from Bangor wasn’t anyone’s first choice; but the silver lining was that Eric and Shelley didn’t need all that much to entertain themselves, Chelsea wouldn’t have to switch schools mid-year for them to make it happen, and they were able to rent a nice farmhouse on five acres of land off Madawaska Road - not far from the ever so slightly more bustling town of Pittsfield, which sits less than a few miles to the south. They thought it would be a peaceful place for Eric to recover, but they couldn’t have been more wrong. Welcome back to The Lore Lodge...
