10:17Now PlayingKyle Kulinski is under fire from some people in his audience for forging close personal ties with a presidential candidate that he openly supports, Marianne Williamson. To be clear, nobody has a problem with his openly stated support for Williamson, that is expected as he is a political commentator giving his view on politics, not some neutral analysis.
However, he has forged a close personal relationship with his hopeful candidate, drawing into question the objectivity of his coverage, considering that despite having similar poll numbers to Chris Christie and Mike Pence, he does not give similar coverage to Williamson, while excoriating Pence and Christie for not having any chance to win the election.
This is especially odd, because Kyle is notoriously known for building his brand on being the outsider. But now he's the insider outsider. He's on the inside of the outside, and this is definitely due to his ties with Krystal Ball, who is an insider herself.
This definitely cheapens his coverage, because the personal connection with politicians comes with benefits that can bias your coverage, and we all know Kyle struggles with staying objective with people he has close relations with.
A user on the secular talk subreddit posted the following post: "Kyle can’t objectively cover Marianne Williamson after she OFFICIATED HIS WEDDING" "Is anyone else disappointed with how Kyle is covering Marianne Williamson? After Marianne Williamson OFFICIATED HIS WEDDING it’s clear he’s letting his personal fondness for her affect his ability to objectively cover her. There’s a huge conflict of interest!
Kyle (correctly in my opinion) mocks irrelevant GOP candidates' odds of winning like Chris Christie and Mike Pence (who have a 0% chance of winning the GOP nomination) yet relentlessly criticizes anyone who treats Marianne Williamson the same way.
Marianne Williamson ran for Congress in my district in 2014 and ended up in fourth place. Her 2020 campaign was also a bust. She has no chance and it’s sad Kyle can’t see this
Edit: I have no problem with Kyle being friends with Marianne or letting her officiate his wedding! My issue is that it seems like Kyle is super hesitant to criticize Marianne because of this. Kyle totally could call her out on all of her "woo woo" spiritual stuff (random example: thinking clinical depression isn't real) or her other flaws but doesn't"
