Louie Gohmert believes that he knows the real dangers of the green new deal and the danger is that we might be living in a birdless America if those evil socialists like AOC and Bernie Sanders have their way. Louie Gohmert went on TV earlier this week to explain the real dangers of this green new deal and the exploding birds who unfortunately can't live to tell the tale. Here is Gohmert in his own words, telling us why this is so bad, here he is.

Bill, but some of the crazy things in it, let's plant flowers on the side of the road. Let's study impact collisions between animals and humans on the road. What about the windmills? The windmills kill so many birds and yet they're taking us toward the green new deal?

Yeah, well, in another part of that green deal is the huge solar farm that they have out on the border of California and Nevada. Thousands of acres of concave mirrors that magnify the sun toward three towers, heat up the, the liquid in there and turn turbines. But, uh, they weren't anticipating that there would be hundreds and thousands of what they would call claimers because when the birds fly through, if they survive the windmills, then they hit that magnified sun, explode inflamed, and down they go bird guts all over the mirrors. So that takes some cleaning up. This is the green stuff that's just out of control and is going to bring the nation down.

Exploding birds, flying into those streams of concentrated sunlight, exploding everywhere and that is as, as he says, of course, if they survive the windmills, then they got to run through the gauntlet of sun lasers, basically. And they burst into flames in the air. Uh, here's the thing I had to do a lot of research on this, Gohmert's actually not wrong about the exploding birds. That actually is a thing that is happening out at this solar plant in the state of California. And it is like he describes, they do use these con, concave mirrors, that concentrates sunlight into these beams and yes, the birds fly through them and they do explode for lack of a better word. They basically, they catch on fire and die in the air. But Louie Gohmert said, they call them flamers, that's actually not true. They call them streamers. Not, not flamers. So they're streamers, but either way. Sure. And sure, windmills, it's estimated kill about 300,000 birds a year here in the United States.

But contrary to what Donald Trump says, it's not bald eagles. Okay. Mostly it is just small birds, you know, doves, pigeons, crows, things like that. And sure, we don't want birds dropping dead all over the country. But the fact is Republicans don't actually care about birds or any wildlife for that matter. Did they care about all the birds that died down here during the Deepwater Horizon oil leak into the Gulf of Mexico? What about all the ones up north with the Exxon Valdez? What about all the birds each year, millions it's estimated, that run into cell phone towers and die. We lose over 1 billion birds per year here in the United States to cats, cats kill over a billion birds in this country every single year. I don't hear Republicans talking about the need to get rid of birds or cell phones or oil drilling, all of which kill more birds every year than these renewable energy sources. So it's not actually about the birds dying. It's about propping up the fossil fuel industry with whatever stupid talking point they can come up with.

That's what this is.
