According to the letters that the duo submitted, they believe the investigation is being stalled, and it appears that Manhattan's new district attorney, Alvin Bragg, is to blame for that. We're finding out more and more about the two prosecutors that abruptly resigned from the ongoing New York investigation into Donald Trump and his businesses. The two prosecutors of course, Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz. Well yesterday, it was reported that the two did in fact submit resignation letters, but things are so haphazard in the Manhattan DA's office that they hadn't even released those letters to the public yet. And the Daily Beast got their hands on those and sure enough, as had been previously reported, both of these former decorated prosecutors blamed the slow rolling of this investigation on their resignation. Now here's the thing. And I think I said that backwards. They blamed their resignation on the slow rolling of the investigation. So anyway, both of them say that they had been basically locked out from being able to present anything to the grand jury for a full month.

And when you've been doing an investigation for three years, which is how long this thing has been going on, not being able to get access to your grand jury for an entire month is exceptionally detrimental to your case. It does slow things down. It does create all of these other hurdles. You know, the grand jury doesn't quite remember things to be perfectly honest. A month is a long absence to not have access to the people who are making the decisions, is the point here. So anyway, the question I have now, Alvin Bragg, the new Manhattan district attorney, why is he allowing this to happen? Why has he decided to slow roll this investigation now? Why is he putting the brakes on it? And that's a question that so far, we have not been able to get an answer to. So here's the thing. Bragg was in fact, a decorated prosecutor, right?

Decorated lawyer. Of course he did spend some of his time in private practice at a white collar defense firm. So rather than going after the white collar criminals, he was defending them in court. So, you know, that always, I feel plays a role in what these prosecutors do and do not want to do, right? It's kind of hard to go from being on one side of everything for so long to suddenly being on the other side. Now you're the guy that has to go after all your buddies that you defended for all of these years. So that could play a role. However, usually I would say that's probably the case, but in this particular instance, Mr. Bragg has been removed from private practice for years and years and years and years. You know, it's not like he just left last year. We're talking about well over a decade ago that this guy was in private practice.

So maybe it's not affecting him. Maybe he's too scared, right? Maybe he's just weak. Maybe he's afraid that if he goes after Donald Trump and the family, as hard as these prosecutors wanted to go, obviously, that it could potentially put a target on his own back among these Republicans. And I mean that both figuratively and possibly quite literally. We have seen how Trump folks react when Donald Trump gets in trouble. We've seen how they react when he basically tells them to go crazy. Perhaps Mr. Bragg doesn't want to be a part of any of that. Perhaps he feels it's not worth it.
