Lauren Boebert Wants Age Limits On People Coming Out As LGBTQ

Republican Representative Lauren Boebert suggested on Twitter that people shouldn't be allowed to come out as LGBTQ+ until they are 21 years old, comparing it to being of the legal drinking age for Americans. Republican representative Lauren Boebert thinks that we need to put age limits on when people are allowed to come out as LGBTQ. This is what Boebert sent out on a recent tweet, I believe it was Friday evening. We require people to be 21 to purchase alcohol beverages and 21 to purchase tobacco products. Why is it so unreasonable to require people to reach a certain level of maturity before making life altering decisions about their sexuality and identity? So this goes beyond just talking about gender affirming therapy. Okay. That's not what this statement is about. This statement is about sexuality itself. I mean, she says it right there, you know, before making life altering decisions about their sexuality and identity. We're now at the point where Republicans want to put an age limit on when you're allowed to come out of the closet, on when you're allowed to make decisions about your own sexuality.

Let's not forget Lauren Boebert's husband was arrested for exposing himself to teenage girls at a bowling alley many years ago. And this individual, and Lauren Boebert was actually at the bowling alley with him when he went and did this, they were banned subsequently from the bowling alley for good reason, and this woman has the audacity to tell other people that your sexuality, your gender identity, we need to police that. Somebody apparently needs to be policing your own husband, Lauren. What gets me is that this is not something that people one day make a decision. You know what? I'm gonna be gay. You know what? Eh, I think I'm just gonna be a woman. I think I'm just gonna be a man now. That's not how this happens. These are feelings. These are things that manifest in people and develop just like puberty.

These are things that do happen with these individuals naturally. And you can say that, oh, but the science says this, oh no, no, no. This is how it works and you have to accept that. This is who these people grow to be and they are still today one of the most persecuted groups of human beings in this country and people like Boebert and at this point, pretty much the entire rest of the Republican party, want to continue that persecution and make it worse for these people. You don't get to be you until you turn 21. You have to hide. You have to be ashamed of who you are. Unless of course who you are is somebody that wants to buy a gun at age 10, then hell yeah, go for it, brother. That's your second amendment right, because that's the only amendment Republicans care about. You cannot police people's sexuality. You cannot put age limits on somebody's sexual development.

This is a personal decision. This is a personal thing that people go through. And Republicans, right, the party of individual liberty, keep the government out of our lives. They want the government more involved in our personal lives than ever. Being in favor of these kinds of things, being in favor of these anti LGBTQ laws, is technically the most anti Republican thing you can do because the basic, basic building block of today's Republican party and has been for decades is small government. Keep the government out of our business, right? There is nothing more intrusive than a government that tells you when you can tell people what your sexual orientation is. But that is exactly what these Republicans like Boebert want to turn this country into. A country where the government polices your own sexuality.
