Ron DeSantis' Administration Clears Him Of Accusations Of Covering Up COVID Deaths

According to a new report from the Florida Inspector General, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did nothing wrong and the claims from a whistleblower that he covered up COVID deaths in the state are without merit. But how can we even trust this government, when we know that anyone who doesn't go along fully with what DeSantis says will likely end up without a job soon? This week, a report from the Florida department of health inspector general came out saying that the whistleblower Rebecca Jones, who had alleged that health officials ordered her from the state to cover up COVID deaths in the state to falsify data to make it look like not as many Floridians were dying of COVID as everybody thought the inspector general for the department of health came out this week and said, after reviewing all of this, looking into it investigating, we have determined that all of her claims are unsubstantiated. We cannot find any evidence to back up what she is telling us. In other words, the inspector general of the state of Florida for the department of health, part of the DeSantis administration is saying that Ron DeSantis did nothing wrong. Rebecca Jones is a liar.

Now the question becomes, what do we believe? Right? I mean, look, we want to believe that when a whistleblower comes forward, which she was granted whistleblower status from the same office that did this investigation. So at the time they clearly thought like, okay, her claims have merit because that's how they determine whether or not you are protected under whistleblower statutes. So they looked at what she had at the time and said, this has merit and then investigate it and said, Nope, there's no evidence at all. I, I don't, I don't know how to reconcile those two things. If you had determined that it had merit, you had to have based that reasoning on something, right? You, you don't just say, oh, your Whistler cool protections for you. Good job. That's not how that works. So my question is what changed? What changed between the time Rebecca Jones came forward and was given that whistleblower status to now?

Well, what changed in that time was the fact that Ron DeSantis became even more of an authoritarian, you know, replaced his, uh, state surgeon general with a lap dog who would go out there and say some of the dumbest crap we've ever heard about COVID do I believe the Florida state department of health inspector General's report is the question. No. Does that mean I put full absolute faith in Rebecca Jones and her claims also, no, I don't know who to believe at this point, but we have seen this DeSantis administration, you know, kinda lean on to people, make sure you do what we want you to do. If you don't do what we want you to do, we're gonna make your life a living hell. That's what they're doing to teachers. Remember when he lifted the mask mandates and made mask mandates illegal, but certain school

Districts still said, no, we're gonna do it. And he tried to strip them of their funding. If you go against this man, he is gonna punish you. So was there any coercion between the DeSantis administration and this inspector General's office, the IGS office supposed to be independent? You know, you can't interfere with it in any way. That doesn't mean they didn't. So I don't know who or what to believe at this point. And that's a problem, but this is what happens when you live somewhere, run by notorious authoritarian, liars. I would like to believe the IGS report is real and accurate. But given what we have seen from this administration, I have a hard time putting my faith in anything that comes out of the Florida government. At this point, if this is the report they've put out, I've got to take them at their word legally. I have to believe them, but personally, I'm still not buying.
