3:27Now PlayingAccording to new reports, Trump officials were mocking Republican Senator Susan Collins for supporting Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, in spite of her claiming to be "pro-choice." Collins was one of the deciding votes that allowed Kavanaugh to get onto the court and overturn Roe, and all that got her was ridicule from the very people she was trying to appease. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Former officials from the Trump administration have confirmed rolling stone that they privately were mocking Republican Senator Susan Collins behind the scenes during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. And at one point they even referred to her as a cheap date. She's a cheap date because all we gotta do in order to get her to support this absolute scumbag, Brad Kavanaugh is keep him vague about his stance on abortion, his stance on Roe V. Wade. That's it. That's all we gotta do. And she'll vote for him as long as she doesn't know that he wants to overturn Roe, which clearly he did, then we're cool. And of course, Susan Collins has come out since the leak draft of the SCOTUS memo and said, oh, I've been hoodwink told you, darn kids. Uh, she didn't say it like that, but that's basically the gist of her, uh, you know, statement.
So here's the thing. I got no problem with this. I'm not shocked. I'm not outraged. These people within the Trump administration, uh, administration read the terrain and they got it right. Susan Collins is an idiot and they took advantage of that. Susan Collins is very gullible and they took advantage of that. You know, I know everybody wants to talk about Diane. Feinstein is not all there. And look, I agree with you. She doesn't know where she is half the time, but let's talk about Susan Collins as well. I mean, she's a total moron, just absolutely not a thought in her head. And the Trump administration understood that and took full advantage of it to pull the wool over her eyes. And so you can't get mad at them from mocking her behind the scenes. Sure. You can get mad calling her a cheap date. Yes. There is a element of misogyny to that statement and it's disgusting.
Yeah. But come on. It certainly isn't the most disgusting thing we've seen this administration say, especially, you know, behind closed doors, if that was the biggest insult they were giving her behind closed doors, then she probably got off light. But the reality is what it is. Susan Collins is the most flee person sitting in the United States Senate today. She's a moron, she's a gullible idiot. And that is exactly what the Trump administration took advantage of. I have no sympathy for her. I'm not gonna be outraged by these statements. We all saw what was happening in front of us. We all watched those hearings. It was one of the most watched, uh, uh, Supreme court hearings that we've had in many, many decades. Folks. We were all tuned in. We all heard from Kavanaugh himself. And then we all watched in horror, but not shock as Susan Collins said, yeah, I'm gonna support this guy. She can claim to be a moderate, all she wants, but at the end of the day, she's just as right wing. And just as stupid as the rest of them.
