Two top election officials in Arizona have resigned their positions after receiving countless threats against their safety from Trump supporters. It is unfortunate that the individuals had to leave their posts, but for Trump's biggest fans, that was always the goal. This is going to give them a feeling of superiority, possibly fueling even more attacks against other officials in other states. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Recently a pair of top election officials in the state of Arizona resigned their positions. Actually, they announced they'd be resigning in the coming weeks due to the threats that they're receiving from Trump's supporters. Now, of course, Arizona has pretty much emerged as you know, ground zero in Donald Trump's fight to overturn the 2020 election. In fact, in the entire Republican fight to overturn the 2020 election, Arizona was ground zero. Not only did they have the embarrassing ballot audit by cyber ninjas, they have since had at least three different audits that have all proved the same thing. Biden won the state fair and square. It was the area where, of course they went through that initial recount and the signature verification where the angry Trump supporters demanded to be led in to watch these things happen. It's of course, where the Republican lawmakers were engaged in the fake elector scheme, trying to throw out their state's electoral votes for Biden and replace them with electors for Donald Trump.

So pretty much all of the horrible things Trump's team did with the election. Arizona had it all and his supporters were paying attention. And every time another audit came out showing Biden one, they got more and more off violently. So violently to the point that these two women who have resigned, their posts actually got extra police security detail to protect them because of the amount of threats they were receiving. And the nature of the threats as well, police were performing regular patrols around their homes to make sure none of these craze, Trump supporters did something to them. Now, unfortunately, we are seeing this happen more and more. We're seeing it happen with Republican lawmakers, Adam Kininger last week, of course released the voicemails. He's received the people saying, I'm gonna come for you. I'm gonna come for your wife. I'm gonna come for your kids.

It's terrifying out there. And the worst part about this is these individuals unfortunately had to, and I don't fault them for it. They had to cave to this pressure and they have now left their position. So what does this tell those Trump supporters, making these death threats. It tells them they work. It tells them that it's effective and it gives them a strategy moving forward to continue to harass other election officials across the country, which of course is happening to try to bully them into leaving their position so that maybe they or somebody like them, like the Trump supporters can take the position. Instead. That's the real danger here. I mean, obviously the first and foremost anger is the lives of these individuals. We do not want anybody to get hurt. And again, I do not fault them for resigning their position, but it opens the door for worse things to happen with

These Trump supporters for more threats to be made after they see that they can have success with it. It's damned if you do damned, if you don't situation for the two women who have resigned, you know, either you stay there and you risk your life just to be an election official, or you have to resign, which tells the people, Hey, you won. It's not a position I would ever want to be in. And I do think these women made the right decision, but we're gonna see more of this. We've already seen too much of it. And I guarantee you we're gonna see a heck of a lot more before the 2022 midterms.
