According to Liz Cheney, the January 6th Committee could end up sending multiple criminal referrals against Donald Trump to the Department of Justice. The Committee's work has obviously been a major focal point for the country over the past few weeks, and the prospect of criminal charges against Trump has been increasing with each hearing. According to Liz, Chaney, not only could the January 6th select committee make a criminal referral for Donald Trump, but she says they actually might make multiple criminal referrals for Donald Trump. And as we had discussed a week or so ago, there's a lot of different avenues. According to the legal experts that have looked at this, you've got potential wire fraud. You've got potential fraud against the government. You've got impeding a government proceeding, the, you know, counting of the electoral college votes and the certification you have possible, uh, uh, witness tampering, all of these different things, right? You know, the fake elector scheme, all of this, everything in Georgia inciting an insurrection, possibly even assault on a secret service agent. Although I don't think they're gonna go that route. The secret service guy is denying it. So that's likely not gonna happen, but still there's so many different things, right?

And Liz Cheney has made it clear. Like we could send multiple referrals to the United States department of justice, but she says there is one thing everybody needs to be aware of. And that is that the DOJ doesn't even have to wait for those referrals. The DOJ go ahead and make move right now. She says they, they don't need us. You know, we, we, we can make these recommendations to them once it's over. In fact, technically they could even make the recommendations now, but ultimately this lies in the hands of the department of justice, see the January 6th committee, as I'm sure everybody's aware by now, they have no like legal authority to hold somebody accountable. This truly is just an investigative body. All they can do is call witnesses, listen to testimony and then make their recommendations beyond that. And of course, they're gonna have a final report and then that's it, right?

They wash their hands of it. They say, we did our job. Now. It's time for you to do yours. Merrick, Garland, entire department of justice, everybody there now it's on you. But again, I think the most compelling part of her statement that she made recently is that they don't even have to wait. of course, as I talked about a week ago, you do have the DOJ that says, listen, we've been blindsided here. We've actually asked the committee to give us some of this stuff that they're presenting to the public and they haven't done it. So who do we believe here? Because obviously one side is not necessarily being forthright. Is it the DOJ saying, Hey, we kind wanna do things, but they're not giving us the stuff. Or is it Liz Chaney? Who says, yeah, I mean, they could do it. They're just not, you know, and maybe we have to make our referrals. Listen by virtue of your last name alone, I'm already distrustful of you, Liz.

You've done great work with the committee. I'll give you that a hundred percent. But just because we have a common enemy doesn't mean we have a common goal. Your goal is to protect and preserve the Republican party. I think the Republican party needs to be a Relic of the history books that doesn't exist anymore. We're not the same.
