Democratic Representative Tim Ryan is running for Senate in Ohio, and he's running ads featuring flattering praise for him by Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson and Maria Bartiromo. During a recent appearance on CNN, he was called out by using the praise from these extremists in his ads, and he desperately tried to downplay the controversies that people like Carlson have been embroiled in. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Democratic Senate candidate and current member of the house of representatives. Tim Ryan is having a rough go of it in his election. See, Tim Ryan is struggling to raise money. And while he is winning in the polls right now, uh, running against JD Vance, he's actually doing pretty well, depending on which poll, some of them show him almost tied. Some of them show him with about a six to seven point lead, but Tim Ryan is still struggling and that could easily shift as we head into, uh, the general election cycle. So representative Ryan went on CNN this week, where he was hoping to get some good publicity, but instead was hammered by CNN host, Abby, Phillip for using sound bites of Tucker Carlson and Maria bar Romo praising him in his campaign ads. She asked him, she goes, I do have to ask you, you have an add out where, where you're touting the support from a bunch of conservative television hosts, including Tucker Carlson and people like Maria bar Romo, who people in your party say are threats to democracy.

Why, why is that? So Tim Ryan tried to put the fire out and he said, well, I think it's important for Ohioans or people who just watch Fox news to know that I am an independent voice to know that I've taken on Democrats, I've taken on Republicans. I've voted against Barack Obama on his trade agenda because I disagreed with it. It was bad for Ohio. And I agreed with Donald Trump on his trade agenda because it was good for Ohio. And I think it's important for Ohio ones to know that. And there's many Ohio ones that if they hear that from some of those folks on Fox news, I think it opens the door for us to have a broader conversation. People want to heal. People want an age of reconciliation, shut the hell up. Here's the thing, Bernie Sanders. I'm gonna go back to Bernie Sanders, right?

Bernie Sanders went after Obama. Bernie Sanders goes after Democrats. We do that here on ring of fire, whether you like it or not, but we don't have to pander to Fox news to do it. We don't have to air sound bites of Tucker Carlson to say that, see, look, we're all on the same page. And at age of reconciliation, no, cuz we call out those too. See Tim, that's the problem. You gotta be willing to call out anyone and everyone that does wrong, but you're apparently not willing to do that because you still want to pander to the mag idiots in your state of Ohio, because you think somehow that's going to help you. Now look at your neighbor state, right? Pennsylvania. What's John Federman doing, is he pandering to the mag of people? Nope. Not only is he out raising Dr. Oz $5 to one, he's also polling significantly ahead of him almost by double digits. At this point, by running a purely progressive campaign, he

Doesn't to go out there and try to be friends with Tucker Carlson. He doesn't put clips of Fox news hosts in his ads. He talks about what he wants to do to help the people of his state. He's not pandering to anybody. Unlike his opponent, Dr. Oz and Tim, you're going down the Dr. Ozs path here. What looked like it could be a very tough campaign to beat. Now looks like a complete frigging joke. And you are the reason for that. Tim, you're running a bad campaign. And Abby, Phillip at CNN was trying to let you know that in the nicest way possible, but you refused to listen and I promise you, that's probably gonna come back and hurt you later on.
