Lauren Boebert's Seat In Danger As More Ballots Are ‘Fixed’

Lauren Boebert has a lead of just over 1,000 votes in her Colorado district, but that lead could completely disappear as more and more ballots are "fixed." Under Colorado law, ballots that are tossed due to signature issues or other administrative problems are allowed to be corrected by the voters within one week of notification, and as those ballots are corrected and counted, it could easily swing the race the other way. Lauren Bobber is currently leading democratic opponent, Adam Fresh in the Colorado House election for the third district. That race, of course, has not been called yet. There are still ballots being counted, but right now Bobert is ahead by about, I think 0.3 percentage points and that makes it a little under 1100 vote difference. But here's the thing, do not lose hope yet folks, because there is still a very good chance that Adam Fri pulls off a victory here as ballots continue to be fixed. Now I know that sounds bad, right? When I first saw this headline, I was like, Well, wait a minute. Isn't that exactly what Republicans say Democrats are doing? We're fixing the ballots. But no, it actually is a legal process in uh, how many states? 24 states. So almost half the country does this. And here's what happens. And this of course is what is happening in Colorado's third district right now with a lot of the mail in ballots, the absentee ballots and the early ballots.

When you have signatures that do not match signatures on file, like the one on your driver's license, those ballots get flagged. Now, 26 states, straight up, throw those out. Colorado is one of those states where they let people know, Hey, your signature's a little bit different on your ballot than your driver's license. Um, would you like to fix it? The person most likely then says, Oh yes I would. So they go back down, they fix the signature, the ballot counts. Same thing. If there's anything wrong, like they put the wrong date on there, you know, minor technical errors, not any problems with their votes, but with the way they filled things out, those are allowed to be fixed. And the way it works in the state of Colorado is when they're going through counting these ballots, looking at them, anyone that has a problem, they set it aside.

They say, Okay, this one needs to be fixed. So they reach out to the individual and from the time they reach out to the individual to let them know their ballot needs to be fixed, that person has one week to go and fix their ballot and have it counted. So that is part of the process that is happening right now. The unfortunate part is that we have no idea how many ballots are out there needing to be fixed. It could be a hundred, it could be 5,000. We do not know. We don't even know if most of 'em are Democrat or most of 'em are Republican. So that's why I say anything can happen in this race, including Adam Fresh, taking a very large lead over Lauren Bobert. Not to mention the fact that if it falls under that 0.5% difference in the vote, which it currently is at, that will trigger an automatic recall under Colorado law. So then we'll get to go back and see if some of these ballots that were tossed shouldn't have been tossed, which, you know, depending on who it was tossed for, could

Benefit the other candidate. The bottom line, once again, though, folks do not lose hope. There is still a very good chance. Lauren Bobber might be a one term member of Congress, and again, quite remarkable considering that she is in a safe red district, a district that got more red after the districts were redrawn following the 2020 census. So she should have been even safer this year than she was in 2020 when she ran, but she couldn't pull it off. A lot of voters in that area looked at her and they said, No, I'm a Republican, but I'm not that kind of Republican.
