Trump said that he would "handle things the way he handles them" with regard to DeSantis possibly running against him, though it isn't immediately clear what that actually means. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

During a podcast interview this week, Donald Trump somehow got on the tangent of Ron DeSantis possibly running for president. And when he started talking about DeSantis, he issued what I guess you could consider to be an ominous warning to DeSantis. Trump had this to say about DeSantis possibly running for president against him. So now I hear he might wanna run against me, so we'll handle that the way I handle things.
So Ron, if you're planning against, uh, uh, or planning on running against Donald Trump, don't worry. He's gonna handle that the way that he handles things. Now, I know that's meant to be a threat, but at the same time, what does it mean? It, it, it kind of makes you sound very unserious like you're trying to come across as this mob boss. Like, eh, don't worry about it. We're gonna handle that the way we handle things here. But instead, you seem more like a cartoon character that has no idea what you're gonna do if Ron DeSantis actually chooses to run against you. Donald Trump has been going after Ron DeSantis for many months now, basically ever since the 2022 elections. And honestly, even before that, he's been beefing with him all throughout the year. And to his credit, Ron DeSantis has done an actually phenomenal job of saying absolutely nothing, right?
That's the best way to handle this right now, if you're in Ron DeSantis camp, just tell him, listen, yeah, he's taken shots at you. Yes, he's issued this weird threat against you. But don't say anything you keep doing. You, you don't get involved in the fray. Trump is taking himself out. So you just keep your hands clean. And then when you see the weaknesses becoming too much for Trump to overcome, that's when you go out and strike. And honestly, at this point, it looks like that is what Ron DeSantis is doing. In fact, we had a report about a month ago where, uh, uh, staffers to Ron DeSantis said that the Florida governor's just waiting for Trump to basically tank himself. And if that is what is happening, then that is the best strategy for Ron DeSantis. He announced, uh, this week that he is for forbidding, making it illegal to have any kind of mask or vaccine mandates here in the state of Florida, which for the record are things that haven't existed here in the state of Florida for well over a year.
So he is still on that culture war, anti-vax, anti well pro covid d really, uh, mindset. But he's outlawing things that already don't exist because it wins him points with his idiot base. So he's getting results even though there's no real results, cuz it wasn't really a thing. But anyway, his base sees him doing things, whereas Trump's base just sees him whining and crying about a man who's not even running against him at the moment. So at the end of the day, DeSantis looks much better than Donald Trump because all Trump is doing is whining, but DeSantis, at least with his base, just keeps on winning.
