Question from Michael Sandlin who asks, is DeSantis winning in his court fights against the Constitution? The latest ruling says that the Constitution does not protect you from the state government. Um, DeSantis is both winning and losing. Sometimes in the same case, uh, you know, this past week there was that, uh, case that went to court of the state attorney that DeSantis suspended for political reasons. The state attorney sued and said, Hey, you can't do this. The state Supreme Court said, Hey, he's right. DeSantis, you can't do this. You violated the state constitution, but we're not gonna do a thing about it. So thanks. So even though the state attorney won and DeSantis lost in the end, DeSantis wins and the guy doesn't get his job back. Like that's how as backwards things are here in the state of Florida that you can lose. You can violate the Constitution and the courts can rule that you'd violated the Constitution and then in the same breath say, but we're not gonna do anything about it.
We're pretty sure we don't even have the power to do that. So y'all have a good day. Um, DeSantis has also had quite a bit of success claiming executive privilege, uh, in lawsuits and investigations. And by the way, he doesn't have executive privilege. That's not a thing that exists for the governor here in the state of Florida, but he's using it and the courts are saying like, well, technically you don't, but we're gonna let you do it anyway. That's what court packing does. That's what 25 solid years of Republican rule and of course, complete control over our state court system does, and DeSantis has done it better than anybody else.
