A new report has revealed that one of the lawyers hired by George Santos has a history of posting conspiracy theories on social media, along with a post encouraging the protests that took place on January 6th (prior to the actual Capitol Riot.) Santos is facing a very real possibility of criminal charges, and he needs a serious lawyer to help him fight. But the quality of this legal team shows that maybe the good lawyers don't want to take the case, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

It should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody that George Santos is of course, facing a lot of legal problems. And when you're facing a lot of legal problems, you gotta hire a lawyer. And George Santos has done that. And according to reports, the lawyer that George Santos has hired is in fact a conspiracy theory January 6th, promoting weirdo to put it mildly. Let me read this in, since deleted social media posts, attorney Joe Murray replied to a tweet from former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, on January 2nd, 2021, in which he declared that quote, we will be gathered outside our nation's capitol building on January 6th, waiting and watching to see who has the courage to stand up for our republic and who the cowards are. Murray then warned that quote, those who do not stand up for our republic will be voted out of office. Okay, well, that's not too bad. Like there's nothing wrong with being there and threatening to vote them out of office. But then raw story continues in a tweet posted the next day, Murray attack Senator Tim Kain and warn that quote, all of you disloyal traitors to the United States of America, both Republican and Democrat would face a backlash from pro-Trump demonstrators if they voted to certify the 2020 election results.

Yeah. So at that point that, uh, that kind of feels like a threat. Like if you certify the 2020 election results, there's going to be backlash against you traitors. So that's, that's not good. That's definitely not what you wanted an attorney, right? Uh, he also had a history of promoting Covid conspiracies, um, replying to Sidney Powell on Twitter. But this is the guy that I guess is somehow supposed to protect George Santos from being indicted or going to jail. Uh, good luck with that, George. I mean, really, I, I don't think you could have done a worse job scraping the barrel here. Was, was there no good credentialed lawyer out there for you to hire? Are you that toxic that there isn't a high profile attorney out there willing to say, you know what? I'll take the case. I think this could be a good challenge. It might boost my career. So you had to go for somebody who, again, as the reports say, has been pushing conspiracies and basically threatening lawmakers in a, in a manner of speaking. That's, uh, that's weird. Definitely not the best strategy, I'm gonna be honest with you, man. But when you're a known liar, when you're the kind of person who, uh, is in as much trouble as you

Are, you probably do become toxic to other lawyers out there, which makes it hard to find decent representation. I don't know what kind of Lori, uh, lawyer, excuse me, Mr. Joe Murray is, uh, I've never heard of him. I have never interacted with him. Maybe he's great, but based on these old social media posts, I'd say that probably not the kind of guy you want walking into court and defending you if he is that, you know, angry about an election where his guy didn't win. Those people don't always seem to be the most rational. So might be hard for him to make rational arguments in front of a jury. But George, you made your bed. Now you gotta lie in.
