Mark Meadows Demands Georgia Trial Be Moved To Conservative Federal Courts

Well, folks, it was only a matter of time before either Donald Trump or one of his 18 other indicted co-conspirators asked for a change of venue out of state court. And sure enough, that request has now been filed by the lawyers of Mark Meadows. Mark Meadows legal team is now asking to please move this case from the state courts over to the federal courts. You know, the federal judges, especially down here in the South, gonna be a little bit more friendly to conservatives than, uh, than possibly that state court Judge McBurney. Now, here's the thing. There actually is a legal basis for doing it. The question is, does it apply to this scenario? There was a law passed shortly after the Civil War that actually said that any state case involving a federal official for a federal act should in fact be moved from state court to federal court.

So there's precedent for this. There's laws on the books about this. So it kind of seems that on paper, yeah, this actually does seem like a federal issue that should be moved under that law. But according to legal experts, there is a problem with that argument. And it's this, the states and the states alone have the sole ability under the United States Constitution to determine how their elections are run, how their votes are counted. They have sole authority over their electoral college votes because that power rests with the state of Georgia. In this particular case, the federal part is not necessarily relevant in the eyes of these legal scholars. They say that yes, it involves federal officials, but they're interfering solely with state business, not federal business. Therefore, this statute should not apply to move this case from state court to federal court. In addition to likely getting a friendlier judge if this is moved to federal.

Because by the way, that's about all that would change. They would still be state charges. Uh, Fannie Willis would still be in charge of it. So nothing really changes other than the judge, except for one very important factor. You see in the state of Georgia state courts, cameras are allowed, everything can be televised. Everything likely would be televised in a potential Trump and 18 other idiot trial. But if it's moved to a federal court, cameras are not allowed. No one would see it. No one would hear the testimony. We wouldn't get to see the witnesses. We wouldn't get to see who flips in real time. It would be shut off completely from the public. And it's widely believed that this is probably what Mark Meadows and the rest of the co-conspirators,

Including Trump are after. They don't want people to see what's gonna happen. They wanna pretend that everything is happening behind closed doors under lock and key. Nobody gets to see it. It's all a big secretive thing because the whole thing is rigged against them. But the only way to actually prove that it's not rigged against you would be to televise the whole thing. But that's what terrifies them, because if it's televised, everybody gets to see and hear everything. And that's what scares these people the most.
