DeSantis Sinks To New Polling Low As Rivals Overtake Him

Ron DeSantis' campaign is going down in flames fast. According to the latest round of polling, not only is DeSantis at his lowest level of Republican support for the year, but his rivals are starting to gain ground and overtake him in some states. Both Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie are beating him in New Hampshire (two different polls) and Ramaswamy actually beat him in one national poll this week. Things are not going to get better after next week's debate, either, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Well, folks, new polls came out this week and it looks like Republican Presidential candidate slash Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, is now at his lowest polling point of this entire year. In this latest poll, Ron DeSantis is only pulling 18% in the Republican primary, whereas Donald Trump is pulling 57%. So Trump's numbers are holding steady. Ron DeSantis is going down, and several other Republican challengers have seen their support tick up one or two notches, including people like Vikk. Ramas Swami, who according to one poll earlier this week, was actually beating Ron DeSantis. He was in second place and DeSantis was in third. And then you've got Nikki Haley, Chris Christie and Tim Scott. Their support has all gone from 2% to 3%. So they're surging right now, right? Oh boy. We got one more point. But the, the point is, earlier this year in February, Ron DeSantis was only trailing Donald Trump by six points.

He's now trailing him by 39 points. That is one of the most spectacular implosions of a campaign that we have ever seen. And the best part is it's only gonna get worse for DeSantis from here. I mean, we saw his idiotic, you know, debate, prep, talking points come out yesterday. Those talking points, those, you know, that strategy is not going to win him any new voters. I mean, going out there and using his new nickname that they've workshopped, fake Vikk like that doesn't even mean anything. But it's what he is gonna use because he thinks Vikk is now his greatest opponent. He's also planning on defending Donald Trump, and if he thinks that's a good strategy, he needs to get on a phone call with Ted Cruz immediately. I'm sure Ted Cruz would probably give him some better advice 'cause it didn't work out so well for him in 2015 and 2016.

But DeSantis is in fact going down in flames, which tells me this is not just a rejection of the super weird and creepy guy. This is a rejection of everything that Ron DeSantis have has done down here in the state of Florida. Right? The abortion bans the attacks on the L G B T Q community, the attacks on corporations that actually provide thousands of jobs and billions in revenue for the state. The attacks on immigrants, the attacks on education, the attacks on teachers, the attacks on prosecutors, everything DeSantis has done, he thought was going to catapult him to start 'em. But it turns out Republicans are not as easily duped as they used to think. So that conventional wisdom that if I do a good enough job in my state,

Giving Republicans everything they want, Republicans everywhere will love me. Apparently not. Apparently it's not good enough, especially when all of that policy comes wrapped in the horrible, creepy package that is known as Ron DeSantis, his campaign. I, I don't see how they, how they recover from this. His last best hope is next Wednesday's debate, and given everything we have seen from DeSantis and debates in the past, it's not gonna help him at all. After next Wednesday, DeSantis campaign may finally be in that last little throw of that downward spiral, and there'll be no way to right the ship at that point.
