Even House Republicans Think Its Stupid To Impeach Biden

House Republicans have essentially been given the green light by Speaker Kevin McCarthy to begin their impeachment inquiry into President Biden, but the plan is going to blow up in their faces. Not only will they not have enough votes to convict Biden in the Senate, but it is becoming more and more clear that they might not even have the votes to impeach him in the House! Multiple Republicans in the House have now come forward to admit that this is a bad idea, but Republicans are in too deep to stop themselves, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

It's pretty much clear at this point that Republicans in the House of Representatives are going to move forward with, at the very least an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. And you know, who thinks this is a really stupid idea besides everybody that's not a Republican. Um, Republicans in Congress happen to think this is apparently a very stupid idea. A Republican member of Congress spoke to c n N on the condition of anonymity where they said this, there's no evidence that Joe Biden got money or that Joe Biden, you know, agreed to do something so that Hunter could get money. There's just no evidence of that. And they can't impeach without that evidence. And I don't think the evidence exists. So not only does this Republican member of Congress say, listen, we don't have the evidence now, but then they're like, the evidence just probably doesn't even exist because this probably isn't a thing that happened. It's something that Republicans have kind of crafted a fun narrative about, but it's a work of fiction at this point. There's no evidence to back any of it up. You also, and I talked about this when it happened, Ken Buck, a member of the Freedom Caucus, came out last month and a couple times since then talking about how it's a stupid idea to move forward with impeachment. Now if you're keeping track at home, we now have at least two Republican members of Congress two that think impeachment is a stupid idea. It only takes five.

If five Republicans break with the rest of the Republican party in an impeachment vote, he doesn't get impeached. It doesn't move over to the Senate for trial. It's over. And we've already got two on the record as saying that they think this is stupid. So if we've got two on the record, I'm willing to bet there are at least five that aren't gonna go along with this. So what's the point? Why? Why are you digging your own grave at this point? Everybody's telling you like this isn't gonna go the way you think it's gonna go. So why are you doing it? Well, the reason for that is quite obvious, right? They're doing it as revenge for Donald Trump getting impeached twice. And you've got these brain dead members of Congress who all by the way, happen to be in safe Republican districts that are pushing this so they don't have to worry about losing their elections. 'cause they know that no matter what happens, they're gonna win because they're Republican in like an R plus 20 district. But the folks who might only have an R plus three or plus four, or perhaps even a tossup district, those are the ones freaking out right now. So no matter how this ends for Republicans, it doesn't end well because either they launched the impeachment inquiry,

Realize that the evidence they're looking for doesn't exist and then they have to drop it. Then what? Then the public looks at it and say, okay, so you wasted everybody's time. Like you're now admitting right before an election that President Biden squeaky clean because you're not impeaching him 'cause the evidence doesn't exist. So that's option one. Option two is they move forward with the inquiry, then they hold the impeachment vote and it doesn't pass. Uh oh. That's kind of similar to the first scenario, right? You're not even able to impeach 'em in the house. You look like a bunch of idiots. You head to a slaughter in next year's election.
