Rudy Giuliani's Financial Troubles Get Worse After He Loses Defamation Lawsuit

Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday was popped by the judge overseeing the defamation lawsuit filed against him by Ruby Freeman and Shay Moss. The judge went ahead and issued a summary judgment ruling that Rudy Giuliani is in fact liable for the defamation against these two Georgia election workers. Now, I have spoken at length here about the claims Rudy Giuliani made about these two women. Um, it's also something that by the way, has come up in the indictments in Georgia. So that's gonna also play a role there. I don't need to get back into it, but the judge said, you are liable for def uh, for defaming, excuse me, these two women. That's it. Now, it's not, it, it because, believe it or not, even though the judge has already said, yes, you did it, they're still gonna have a trial. And the reason they're gonna have a trial is because even though they're no longer determining whether he did or didn't defame these women, they do have to determine how much he is going to have to pay them.

And now he owed these women $89,000 in attorney's fees. He was supposed to pay that by July 25th, 2023, so month and a half ago-ish. He didn't pay it. So the number that Giuliani is going to have to pay these women is basically going to start at, uh, $89,172 and 50 cents, and it's going to go up from there. So he's gonna have to pay at least 90 grand of these women on top of the damages 'cause he has to do the legal fees plus damages. So it's gonna be pretty rough for Rudy Giuliani going forward. And part of the reason, by the way, that the judge was forced to issue summary judgment here, and the judge, of course, called Giuliani out for this 'cause ju, uh, is because Giuliani refused to turn over his electronic devices. He was not cooperating with the lawsuit in any way. And under the law, the judge had no option but to make the summary judgment against Rudy Giuliani.

So Giuliani automatically loses. But in a way, he also wins because he didn't have to turn over that information. Information that not only would've destroyed his defense in the defamation lawsuit, but information that could significantly hurt him in the Georgia indictment. So Giuliani may have saved himself a little bit there, but we also have to remember, talked about this a lot last week. Giuliani's having pretty significant money problems right now, right? He's been begging Donald Trump for money. Trump eventually agreed that he's gonna hold a fundraiser for him in Bedminster next month. So Giuliani may get a little cash in his pocket, but he's immediately gonna have to turn it over to these two women. So if Trump's fundraiser with Giuliani is not successful, Giuliani will still be in the hole, in addition to not having any money to actually pay his legal fees for the criminal charges that he is facing. To put it another way, things are very bad for Rudy Giuliani and they're going to continue getting worse from here.
