Judge Finds Clever Way To Smack Down Trump's Request To Delay Trial

Donald Trump and his legal team were smacked down by Judge Tanya Chutkan this week as they tried to get the January 6th trial delayed using a flimsy argument. The judge decided to get creative in her decision, and not only did she NOT grant the extension, but she offered the simplest solution to the problems that the Trump team were presenting to her. The fraud trial in New York is not the only legal issue that has been facing Donald Trump this week. Let's not forget that. We've got Fannie Willis down there in Georgia who's offering plea deals to any of the co-defendants willing to take one. And we also have Judge Tanya Chut Ken, who's overseeing the January 6th trials and the attempts to overturn the election trial. Um, who this week issued what might be one of my most favorite rulings that we have seen from any of the judges overseeing the Trump trials. Here's what happened On Monday, Donald Trump's lawyers go into court and they say, Hey, judge Chuck, they did this in a filing. They didn't actually say that, but they're like, Hey Judge Chuck, here's a problem we got here. Right? We're just a bunch of humble little lawyers. And by golly, some of this evidence that we need to see requires security clearances from the federal government.

Well, we don't have those judge. Hey, I don't have a security clearance. My co-counsel here doesn't have security clearance. So judge, what you're gonna have to do, even though the trial's, you know, six months away, you're gonna have to postpone the trial because, you know, we, we gotta get these security clearances and, uh, we, we don't have 'em, and we gotta be able to see the evidence. So Judge Chakin listens to, to that argument, you know, in the motion. And then of course, the government, the D O J is able to file their response to the motion, which they're required to do, and the government tells Judge Chakin like, judge, this is actually kind of stupid because, um, there's really no evidence that we're gonna present that requires somebody to have a security clearance. Okay? I mean, there may be like one or two things, but really there's, there's not, like, we're not planning on doing that, okay?

We're not just gonna bring in a bunch of classified documents and then be like, ha ha, you lawyers don't get to read it. Um, that's not a thing we're gonna do. The d o OJ tells Judge Chucking. So Judge Chucking takes these two motions, right? She considers it for like a day. Um, and that's, I love how fast she's doing all this. It's great. So she think about it for like a day, and then she comes back on Tuesday and she's like, you know what? Here's the thing. Um, if you guys need security clearances, here's what I'm gonna do.

Go get your security clearances. That's my ruling. You have until October 11th to get the security clearances goodbye. So rather than delay the trial, she took their argument where they're like, judge, we don't have security clearances. And she's like, oh no. Go get it. I love it. Like, is that not the perfect ruling though? Like, well judge, we can't do it if we don't have our security clearance. It's like, oh, no, then go get it. You idiot. What are you, what are you filing motions for when you could, instead of writing this motion, be filling out the application for the security clearance, right? I mean, I'm pretty sure since you're up against the D O J in court, you could just lean over and be like, Hey Jack Smith, you mind expediting this for me real quick?

Hey, thanks. Thanks bud. Appreciate it. So the judge in her ruling effectively says, if you don't have the thing you need, stop wasting time here and just go get the thing you need. We're not delaying this trial. Nice try though. Go get your security clearance.
