In that article from 2020, Mr. Goldberg presented lots of statements about Donald Trump effectively disparaging members of the military, whether it was wounded veterans or people who had died in World War ii. People who were prisoners of war, like John McCain or just generally people in the military currently. And Mr. Goldberg took a lot of crap for that article. So now here we are three years later, and General John Kelly, Donald Trump's former chief of staff, finally came out to c n n and confirmed all of those horrible things that Donald Trump allegedly said. Kelly said, yeah, it all happened, you know, three years after the article where again, Mr. Goldberg took a lot of crap for it. And Kelly finally goes, oh yeah, that totally all true. Lemme read you this statement from John Kelly, a statement that should have come out three years ago.

A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat or spend years being tortured as POWs are all suckers because there's nothing in it for them. A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because, quote, it doesn't look good for me. A person who demonstrated open contempt for a gold star family, for all gold star families on TV during the 2016 campaign and rants that are most precious heroes who gave their lives in America's defense are losers and wouldn't visit their graves in France. A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women, a person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America's all about.

A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peace, time, and war should lose his life for treason in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators, a person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our constitution, and the rule of law, there's nothing more that can be said. God help us. Kelly includes God. God help us is right. 'cause God help us if people who actually have this information continue to stay silent for years after the people who first reported it basically get run into the ground for not having enough evidence to back it up.
