DeSantis Fundraiser Cancelled After No One Commits To Show Up

Never Back Down, the Super PAC supporting Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign, was forced to cancel a fundraising event in Alabama after no one expressed interest in actually showing up. The group had sent messages to roughly 3,000 donors, asking them to pony up $10,000 to hang out with Ron and his wife, Casey, but they weren't getting enough affirmative responses to make the fundraiser viable for anyone involved. If you're looking for any more evidence as to just how poorly Ron DeSantis presidential ambitions are, uh, are going, uh, you need look no further than the super PAC supporting his presidential bid. And that is a super PAC called Never Back Down. Now, never Back Down has in the last few weeks gone through some internal turmoil. Uh, reports have said that Ron DeSantis is like lashing out at them because they're so bad at what they do. Uh, their leader actually stepped down. He is like, yeah, I can't even do this anymore. These, these people suck. I'm out. Uh, that's not exactly what he said, by the way, but that's kind of the notion that he gave us. Everything is, is crazy. This is stupid. I'm leaving. But they still push along, right? And recently ahead of the most recent Republican presidential primary debate held in Alabama, never backed down thought, you know what?

We're gonna do what we've done with some of these other debates. We're gonna have a fundraising event, you know, a fundraising lunch. They did it in Miami, raised over a million dollars. And they said, Hey, let's do it for this debate in Alabama. It's a deep red state, right? I mean, we got lots of Republican supporters. Let's do this and raise more money to help our candidate. Fair enough. They sent out messages to 3000 donors, like not just 3000 everyday average mom and pop donor, 3000 big dollar donors. It said, Hey, listen, we got this debate coming up on this day for 10,000 bucks. That's a lot of money, but for $10,000, you can have lunch with Ron DeSantis wife, Casey DeSantis, and she'll explain how voter fraud works to you. Um, that wasn't part of it, but if you know the Iowa story, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Uh, you can have lunch with Casey DeSantis. Yeah, you get the pictures, shake your hand, all that crap. Uh, you get tickets to the debate, which would be fun, right? And then after the debate, you get to do the meet and greet with Ron himself. So it's kind of a full day, 3000 people. We want $10,000. Y'all come on in, let's do this and raise money for our guy. Well, the fundraiser never happened. Do you know why the fundraiser never happened? Because they didn't get enough people saying, yes, this sounds like fun. I'm in A month and a half ago, they did the same thing in Florida, raised a million dollars, more than a million dollars. But after Ron DeSantis repeated failings on the campaign trail, they tried to do it again and couldn't get anybody. They had to cancel the event because nobody wanted to pay $10,000 to watch Ron DeSantis look like a malfunctioning robot on stage, and then take a picture with him after. That is how poorly this campaign is going. And I gotta tell you,

As I always say, as a resident of Florida, I've lived through DeSantis entire regime. He's a horrible human being, a horrible leader. And I love every second of this failure. I simply cannot get enough of it. In fact, it's going to be a very sad day for me when Ron DeSantis finally drops out, because I'm not gonna have any more of this joy of watching him get publicly humiliated time and time again on the national stage. Oh, he'll still have humiliations, but there'll be more local, maybe not national news. So I gotta soak it up while I can because I do think the end is near.
