3:40Now PlayingA newspaper in Colorado published an editorial cartoon that skewered Lauren Boebert for her pathetic showing in the recent Republican straw poll. The cartoon featured Boebert demanding "Stop the straw poll steal!" and had her losing to all sorts of people and objects - including a tire swing. Boebert isn't getting any love at all from her new district, and when you're getting hammered from all sides, it is hard to walk away unscathed. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republican representative Lauren Bobert. I mean, her luck just keeps getting worse Every time you think, wow, things can't be worse for Lauren Bobert, things go and get worse for Lauren Bobert. And what happened on Friday is that, uh, a Colorado newspaper, very popular, the Colorado Sun ran an editorial cartoon that absolutely skewed Lauren Bobert for coming in fifth place in that recent straw poll following her first debate. And the debate itself, of course, was a disaster for Lauren Bobert. But this editorial cartoon has Lauren Bobert holding up the results of the Straw poll, and she's saying, stop the straw poll steal. Okay. Funny enough, right? Because obviously Trump stopped the steal thing. Lauren Bert's copying that in the cartoon, ha ha. But what's really funny to me is the list of people that she is losing to in that straw pole in the cartoon. Of course. Now, obviously the first few were actually the names of the people who are legitimately beating her. But then also on the list, you have Pile of Bricks, tire Swing, dead Raccoon, and then Lauren Bobert. So this editorial is suggesting that a pile of bricks would beat Lauren Bobert. A dead raccoon would beat Lauren Bobert. A tire swing would be better than Lauren Bobert in Congress.
This is just absolutely the icing on the cake at this point for Lauren Bobert. Nobody's buying her excuse of, oh, I'm moving from the third district to the fourth district to just start a new life and you know, be there for my kid. Nobody's buying that crap. You moved to the fourth district because you thought it was going to be a slam dunk for you to keep a seat in Congress because you knew you weren't gonna win. In that third district. Adam Fris was beating the hell out of you. Your Republican primary opponent was about to beat the hell outta you. He was beating you in fundraising. So you thought, Hey, let me go to this open seat in the fourth district. I've got the name recognition, everybody loves me. I'm gonna go down there. They're gonna love it. They hate her. I think they hate her more in the fourth district than they did in the third district, and I didn't even know that was possible. All of this attention being paid to Lauren Bobert for all of these negative things, and there are many, it is tanking her. She cannot outrun her reputation. And that's exactly what she tried to do by going from the third district to the fourth district. She thought she could leave it all behind her. But it's more than just what you did at the Beetlejuice Theater. It's the culmination really, of your entire life, right? Even before you ran for office, even before you started that
Idiotic little restaurant, you know, your husband, the bowling alley thing that's coming back, your prior arrests were mentioned in that debate from long before you became a lawmaker. You know the recent incident you had with your husband or ex-husband at this point, at that restaurant. And yeah, the Beetlejuice thing, your outbursts during the State of the Union address, all of these things have come back to Bite. Lauren Bobert. She did escape them for quite some time, but you can only run so far before your past catches up with you. And that's what Lauren Bobert is learning in her new district.
