Jim Jordan Tries To Humiliate Fani Willis With Fresh Subpoena

Jim Jordan's House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed Fulton County DA Fani Willis (again). This time, Jordan is seeking information about how Fulton County used a federal grant from the Department of Justice, as well as answers about an alleged whistleblower who claims that they were demoted after pointing out the misuse of federal funds by a district employee. Additionally, Willis came out over the weekend and admitted to having a romantic relationship with her fellow prosecutor. All of this added up could be a very bad thing for the prosecution, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

We have to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly with the ongoing Fanny Willis saga in Georgia. Now, Willis couple days ago did in fact admit this is the first time she's openly admitted that yes, I have been romantically involved with this fellow prosecutor. But Willis maintains this relationship did not begin until after I had put him on this prosecutorial team. We did not have a prior relationship, and I picked him because we were involved with each other. I picked him, we got close over the time, and a romance bloomed, I guess. So that part of this story kind of throws a lot of cold water over some of the claims Republicans have made. Like, oh, she picked him because he's her boyfriend and she's paying him more money. She's not paying him any more than the other prosecutors are making. Uh, it's actually well below the market value hat they're all being paid.

So, you know, they're, they're not even being paid what they should be being paid. And of course, the Republicans claims that Fannie Willis used office funds to go on trips with a man that's actually been disproven by his own divorce filings. He paid for the trips himself, came out of his personal bank account. So all of those claims from Republicans have now been debunked, and that's a good thing. However, Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has issued yet another subpoena to Fanny Willis saying, Hey, we got a whistleblower now. 'cause Republican whistleblowers over the last year have worked out so well for them. But Jordan says, we got a whistleblower here who says that your office misused federal funds that were given from the DOJ to Georgia, and your office obviously got some. So those are federal funds. And because we're a federal entity, I'm allowed to subpoena you now. Ha ha ha, I got my way. So you gotta turn over all your documents, possibly even come in for testimony so we can find out how you've been misusing these federal funds. That's a, that's an uhoh. But so far, as I mentioned, all of the Republican whistleblowers that they've had come talk about various things over the last year, every one of them is crapped out, every single one of them.

But there's a catch to this story. This whistleblower claims that Willis actually demoted them when they brought up to her that, Hey, there's a staffer misusing these funds that were part of the DOJ grant. That's a pretty big one, right? Punishing a whistleblower that that can be a prosecutable offense. So that's a big claim question is, is it an accurate claim or is this just more mudslinging against Fannie Willis? So far she has stood tall against the claims Republicans have made. They have been debunked slowly, one by one. If she did retaliate against this whistleblower, then I think she is screwed. But that's a big if, right? Is this person a legit whistleblower? Did things transpire the way that this person says they did? Is there any misuse of the federal funds? Of course, it's not alleged that Willis misused the funds, but that a staffer did. So she's not even necessarily involved in that unless she punished the whistleblower. If she didn't punish the whistleblower, then congratulations you once again emerge after all this Republican mud slinging.
