3:39Now PlayingDonald Trump has now fallen asleep at his trial every day this week - and nearly every day prior to this week - and his lawyers are at their wit's end. According to a new report, Trump's lawyers are now trying everything they can to keep him awake, including giving him large stacks of paper to look through so that he doesn't get bored. They have also made a point to not leave him alone during any sidebar conversations, and they are giving him mints in hopes of perking him up a bit. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump is having a very difficult time staying awake. During his criminal trial, as of last Friday, he had fallen asleep on four out of six of the days that they had had trial. And then this week rolls around and he fell asleep again on Monday and he fell asleep again on Tuesday. So he is now six out of eight 75% of the days he has been in court. He has just nodded off 'cause he's sleepy. And this is of course the same guy who calls President Biden sleepy Joe. And yet he is the one who is having trouble keeping his poor little eyes open. And according to a new report, Donald Trump's lawyers are kind of at their wits end trying to keep this moron awake during the trial that could determine the fate of the rest of his life. So according to M-S-N-B-C, legal analyst, Lisa Rubin, Trump's lawyers are trying a couple new things to keep him awake during trial.
One of the things is that when there are the sidebar discussions, you know, those are not, uh, you know, the jury's not privy to those. It's a private conversation with the lawyers and the judge. What Trump's legal team is now having to do is not send all their lawyers up for the sidebar discussions and they have to leave somebody sitting next to Donald Trump so that if the sidebar takes five minutes or 10 minutes, he's not sitting there falling asleep. Right. The lawyer can just get up, get up. So number one thing they're doing can't leave him alone because if you do, he's gonna nod right off. Sounds more like a medical condition if you ask me. The second thing they're doing, according to Lisa Rubin, is they're sorry, this is so dumb. They're giving him big stacks of paper so that he has things to do when he gets bored like a child, right?
Like you go out to eat and you got young kids. And that's why they ask like, how many kids menus do you need? Because the kids menus, you know, they have a little tic-tac toe, sometimes they have a little maze and a word search and you can color and all that. So the parents don't have to entertain their kids. And the kids don't get bored and cause a scene in the restaurant. Basically, that's what Trump's lawyers are doing to him. It's like, here you go. We got your little crayons here. Got your, got your little paper. Ooh, there's a little crab you can color in. Ooh, that's fun. I'll play tic-tac toe with you later. Okay. When there's a sidebar. But for now you do this and we're gonna pay attention to the trial. He's a child. He is a 77-year-old toddler at this point. And then another thing they've said he is been doing is he's been popping a lot of mints. So you know that jolt of mint kind of helps keep you awake a little bit, can pop 'em all day long, low calorie, you know, you're not loading up on the candy there, so that's good, right? But overall, this is a bad look for Donald Trump. Again, I cannot stress this enough. The outcome of this trial could impact
The rest of his life. It could determine if he spends the rest of his life in jail and he can't even stay awake for it. And his lawyers are now treating him like the 77-year-old toddler that he is trying everything they can to just keep his eyes open a little bit longer, bud. We're almost there. You can do it. Come on. And it is the most pathetic thing that I think I have ever heard.
