Donald Trump may have the thinnest skin of any person that has ever occupied The White House. During a rally in Wisconsin this week, the former President went on a rant about how much it hurts his feelings when people say that he's unpopular. But the truth is that he IS unpopular, and he's never enjoyed an approval rating above 50% and he's never won the popular vote in any election that he's run in. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why this hurts him so much.

Donald Trump at his rally on Wednesday in Wisconsin, decided to take a few moments to let the crowd know just how thin his skin really is, and how badly some people out there in this country are actually hurting his feelings. And those people, Donald Trump said, are the people out there saying that he is unpopular? Here's what Donald Trump said. You know what bugs me when they say we have two very unpopular candidates, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. They're very unpopular. He's unpopular. I'm not unpopular. I'm like it 94% approval in the Republican party. I'm not unpopular. They're fake news. I hate that. It's terrible. He says, I'm not unpopular. They're unpopular. I'm popular. Just look at how popular I am with the people who like me. That's like, if you were to get my approval rating within my own family, I am sure it would probably be above 90%.
So yeah, the people who like you are gonna like you, like your approval rating within the Republican party really doesn't mean squat at this point. The truth of the matter is that to this very day, Donald Trump has never had an approval rating higher than 50%. So you are literally, by definition, unpopular more people dislike you than like you. So you can rant and rave like a lunatic all you want about it, the fact of the matter is you're unpopular. You can't do anything about it because you choose to remain unpopular. You choose to be a bully. You choose to use bigoted talking points. You choose to be a at every given opportunity. You're not exactly winning people over with your personality at this point. So it is a choice. You know who you want to be. You've decided this is the character you wanna play, and you have to suffer the consequences that come along with that.
Now, if you want to be the guy that everybody loves, stop trashing people that don't look like you. Stop calling other countries, countries just because they're not predominantly white. Take your fortune and start giving it to charities. Those are things you could literally do right now that would make more people like you, but you are choosing to remain unpopular by being the biggest we have seen run for president probably ever. So don't whine about it, but also don't try to rewrite history by citing, oh, well, the people in my party like me, sure they do. Just like the people in the Democratic Party like Joe Biden. But when you go out there to the rest of the country, the majority of the country, yeah, things are gonna change a little bit, even with President
Biden. But Donald Trump has always been unpopular. Not only has he never had an approval rating over 50% in the aggregate polling, he's also never won the popular vote. I mean, that's why it's actually called the popular vote. So yeah, you are not popular. But I do love the fact that you continuously go out there and tell your own supporters how thin your skin is, giving the opposition over on the left, the perfect opportunity to attack you in a way that they now know thanks to. Your admission is definitely gonna get under your skin.
