There is absolutely no winning with Donald Trump. Following the incident at his golf course on Sunday, Trump told a rally crowd this week that both President Biden and Vice President Harris called him and were very nice, and then he said he wished that they hadn’t been so nice to him – apparently it makes him feel bad to be a jerk to them after that. But he continued on with his jerkish behavior nevertheless, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

Apparently there is just no pleasing Donald Trump. He doesn't like when people are mean to him, and it now seems that he doesn't like when people are nice to him. During a campaign stop in Flint, Michigan, this week, Donald Trump actually complained about the fact that both President Biden and Kamala Harris were nice to him when they phoned him following the incident that took place at Trump's golf course this past Sunday. Here is what Donald Trump told the crowd in Michigan, quote, he was so nice to me yesterday. In one way, I sort of wish the call wasn't made because I do feel a little, he's so nice. I'm so sorry about what happened and all that. Same with Kamala today. She could not have been nicer, but the fact is we have to have people that are respected by the opponent.
He almost almost showed a little bit of human emotion there, right? Let me read this again. In one way, I sort of wish the call wasn't made because I do feel a little, he's so nice. Like he almost said guilty. He almost said bad. He almost said something that would indicate that he is in fact capable of actual human emotion. Like, hey, I guess I do feel a little bad for calling him and Kamala Marxists and communists and fascists and all of the other horrible names that I hope everybody forgets because I'm trying to say their rhetoric is the bad rhetoric, right? That's what you wanna say. But maybe this is a breakthrough, right? Maybe this is, holy crap, he may be human after all. Maybe he's not as much of a psychopath as we had thought. Maybe there is a shred. Maybe there's a tiny little voice buried somewhere in the back of his head that is capable of telling right from wrong.
And then of course, he blows it all up when he is like, but you gotta have somebody who's respected by the opponent. Now, what does that even mean? Like, are you talking about you being their opponent and you don't respect them because they were nice to you? I, is that what you're trying to say? Like you're, you're, you wish they hadn't called 'cause now they were nice and now you don't respect them and that you just can't have that you, you are insane. Like that little moment, that little voice in the back of your head, you must have had another little voice come along and smashed that one with a hammer and then said, Nope, I've gotta be an a-hole. I've gotta be the rudest, most disturbing human being you've ever said. And now that I've said they were nice, I'm going to tell this audience that I don't respect them at all. So
Again, man, you were, you were right there. You were so close to actually saying something good for once in your miserable life and you couldn't bring yourself to do it. And you may have finally killed that little voice in the back of your head off for good. Maybe it won't be bothering you anymore. Maybe that conscience, the little jimy cricket in the back of your brain is in fact gone forever because there was no reason to go into the second part of that attack there. But you did it anyway because really you are just a horrible human being.
