Members of Donald Trump’s incoming administration are already threatening to put Democratic leaders in prison if they don’t follow along with the mass deportation plans that Trump will be implementing. His allies are targeting Democratic leaders in cities in California, warning them in a recent letter that they will be arrested if they do not comply. They are going after so-called sanctuary cities, not realizing what that actually means. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

Incoming members of Donald Trump's administration have now sent threatening letters to Democratic officials in the state of California warning them that they're likely going to be thrown in prison if they do not cooperate fully with Donald Trump's planned mass deportations. And I'm gonna tell you the name of the guy who sent these letters, but honestly I don't have to. If I tell you somebody who's gonna be a part of Donald Trump's incoming administration is sending letters threatening to jail Democrats who do not participate in the mass deportations. You probably know right off the top of your head who that person is. Like that is how horrible and, and clearly racist this individual is. But in case it doesn't pop into your head, it is of course, none other than Steven Miller. Steven Miller, through his America First Legal Foundation sent a letter to the Attorney General of California, and of course, local leaders throughout the state, especially those along the southern border. That said, we have identified San Diego County as a sanctuary jurisdiction that is violating federal law leaders and employees of sanctuary jurisdictions could be criminally liable if they impede federal immigration enforcement.

So they're letting these people know we have a list and we are checking it twice, and we are going to put you in jail if you do not participate in our mass deportations because you guys have sanctuary cities, you're a sanctuary state, you're harboring these illegal immigrants, right? Not so fast. As I explained recently at N Video, and clearly I have to explain it again now, sanctuary cities or states or whatever they are, do not mean that people who are in the country illegally cannot be deported. All that means is that laws are on the books, which states are allowed to do, by the way, that says local law enforcement will not aid in any federal deportation plans. So we are not gonna have our police go around doing these immigration raids with you. If you wanna come in on the federal level and do that, you can.

We literally cannot stop you. But if you ask our police for help, no, our laws say they're not gonna do it. That's it. That's what a sanctuary city is, folks. People can still be deported, but we're not gonna have our police doing that. They've got their hands full doing other things. And let's face it, immigration really is a federal issue anyway. So if you guys want to come in and do it, you can come in and do it. We're not gonna help you. The city of San Diego, however, has gone a step further, and that's why Miller is targeting them. San Diego says that, okay, yes. Not only do the police not help you, however, we recently passed a law saying our police cannot tell you if they have undocumented migrants in jail or in a hospital. Like they can't tell you unless you have a warrant.

Meaning you have to go to a judge, say that you have probable cause that this specific individual is either in jail or in a hospital or in another, you know, kind of protected facility. And then you can get a warrant and then we'll tell you those are our laws, which we are allowed to pass. And Stephen Miller says, hell no, you can't. I'm gonna throw you in jail because we want blanket deportations. We don't want to have to identify individuals. That's a lot of work on our end. We would rather set up a constitutional showdown over the 10th Amendment about whether or not these cities and states have the right to pass these laws, and we will do that by arresting you. That is what they are threatening because cities and states have exercised their 10th Amendment freedoms, Stephen Miller is so hellbent on getting non-white people out of this country that he is willing to violate the Constitution in order to do it.
