Trump Supporters Will Suffer The Most If He Kills Obamacare

Donald Trump has repeatedly mentioned the idea of getting rid of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), and he tried, unsuccessfully, to repeal it during his first term. But if he is ever successful in overturning the popular program that provides insurance to 50 million Americans, it is his own supporters that will suffer the most. Since its inception, more than 50 million Americans have been able to get health insurance through the exchanges set up by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. And today, just this year, by the way, 21 million people signed up in the last few months for health insurance through the Obamacare exchanges. And of those 21 million people, 80% of them happened to be from states that went for Donald Trump. So it's safe to assume that a lot of these people signing up for Obamacare are Trump supporters. And the irony there, of course, is that Donald Trump and the entire Republican party have been talking nonstop since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law about repealing it. Donald Trump, of course, famously mentioned back in September that he wants to get rid of it. And then when asked if he has a plan, he says he has concepts of a plan.

You know, we, we wanna get rid of it. We don't know what we're gonna do in place of it, but we don't like it and we want it gone. And then we'll figure out the details later. Which of course is what they tried to do during Donald Trump's first term. And they failed, thank God. But they're gonna try it again. House Speaker Mike Johnson recently said, uh uh, a big part of the agenda is going to be to reform the US healthcare system. But then he was asked, you know about Obamacare? He says, no Obamacare. No Obamacare. So we get a house, a Senate, and a guy coming into the White House who do not want Obamacare. And if they are successful with either repealing it completely or doing what is called a soft repeal by not extending the Affordable Care Act subsidies that actually allow these people to buy insurance, those expire next year, by the way, and do have to be renewed. If either of those things happen, either the full repeal or the soft repeal, the majority of people that will be screwed over are Donald Trump's own supporters.

This is starting to become a theme with Donald Trump's plans, right? You get rid of Obamacare, you screw over the people that put you in power, you go through with your mass deportations, you screw over the people who supported you. There's whole groups of farmers in California, a state that, by the way, provides more than half of the food we eat in this country. They voted for Trump, and now they're terrified because they realize they could lose over half of their workforce if he goes through with these mass deportations. So again, the people screwed over the most from the mass deportations, Trump's own supporters. Then the

Tariffs, who's gonna be screwed over the most from the tariffs? Well, I think that one's pretty much even. But if you look at the breakdown of the people who voted for Trump, obviously lower income people will be hit hardest first from the tariffs. And that, of course is a group that went for Donald Trump. So it really doesn't matter which plan you're looking at from Donald Trump and the Republicans, each and every one of them threatens their own base first, which does beg the question, of course. How can these people continue to support people who are literally telling them, I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna take away your healthcare, yours specifically, I'm gonna make the cost of your goods and services go up. I'm gonna take away your workforce to where you can't make money anymore, and every two, four years, these people go back to the polls, click that little thing right next to the Republicans, fill in the arrow, complete the circle, whatever, and say, yep, this time it'll be different. And the Republicans will finally take care of me. Oh, they're gonna take care of you guys. All right? Just not in a way that any of you are going to like.
